Blowing in the Wind: An Exploration of Historical Flutes

Short Description: Take a Journey through musical history with Oberlin College Professor Michael Lynn

Extended Description: Michael Lynn, Professor of Historical Flutes at the Oberlin Conservatory of Music, will present an introduction to the development of the flute on Thursday, June 8 at 7:00 p.m. using his personal, world-class collection. This lecture/demo will include flutes roughly from 1760 to 1900. The flutes are all in playable condition. This program will be held in the parlor of the Community Music School of the Oberlin Conservatory, located at the historic Burrell-King House (315 East College Street). Thanks to the generosity of the presenter and venue, this program is free but advance registration is required due to limited seating.
